Humble temptation, desperate longing…
You stare me in the face.
I am blind, I am weak,
Fighting in an unknown place.
Cries for help and guidance are not heard
The weary given no rest,
Haunted by invisible demons
I see you slowly start to manifest.
Your evil smile fills the room
Laughter in my ear
Such spite, such cruelty,
Since it was you who sent me here.
A hand is offered to me
Too dark to make out,
Is it yours? Is it his?
A voice began to shout
“Take my hand, my sweet, let there be no doubt,
I will lead you to happiness
Putting an end to this loveless drought.
All I need is your hand, now and forever
Let me show you what love is all about…”
A red glow emanated from the hand
Evil filled the room
I back away with tears streaming down,
Pausing the imminent doom.
The red light reveals the two-faced liar;
Two grooved horns on either side of his head
One familiar sparkling emerald eye staring back at me
The other a blood thirsty red.

My outreached hand hesitates
I loved you came my whisper
For salvation, I am too late…
You stare me in the face…
Half your smile is shown
The one that once gave such great comfort
But none now, since I have been alone.
I am blind, I am weak…
Memories bombard my mind as if under attack
Of all the things you have done…
We had such great potential, but now my heart is black.
I loved you…came my final quiet words
And laid my hand on his with such grace,
My body went limp, my soul turned numb;
I am forever cursed to serve in an unknown place.
